On Courage

The courage

to refuse to war, invade another country and kill people, - I dare.

to praise myself, - I certainly dare, lest I should shame, blame  the Creator.

to ask Princess Diana permission to kiss her, were she still living, - I don’t dare. Ha. Ha.

The Smart Boaster

“Formerly someone said that life starts at 40, then someone today asserts, i. e. comforts himself, that life starts at 80 as he celebrates his 80th year.”

I’m bragging now, “I’m so sorry if one starts really living in old age, I started living even when I was not five. Ha. Ha.”

Gold

What I call gold is our paddy, corn, fruits, vegetables,
our woods, forests,
the creatures of the land, of the water,
the land, the mountains, the streams, the lakes, the sea,
the clouds, the air, the heavens,  the sun, …
just picture them, how wonderful, precious they are.

These, they, are the true, real gold, so invaluable, for us. What a loss, disaster, were they no more, for man, creatures, all living alike.

Were gold abundant as sand of the sea, who would care for it? That, which we call gold, destroying, ruining the earth after it for the sake of money, is not true gold.

Not to mention of the gold that is in a beautiful thought, a beautiful writing, painting, …

Nature, Human Nature

What is inborn in Man, a being, -  call it Nature - can never be suppressed, subdued by rules, customs, laws, …

You can’t force a pigeon to be unfaithful to its mate,
neither can you force a cock to be faithful to one mate.

You can’t, block, imprison Nature, Human Nature.

The Philosopher Wonders

What is life, death?

The living would choose life, as life is wonderful, so precious, so dear, not death as death is a scare.

And the dead would also choose death, as death is also wonderful, a heaven, not life.

The Jamu Vendor In The Cow Cart

And I imagined a lovely jamu vendor, in former times, walking bare foot, jumping nimbly into an empty, open cow cart, without asking permission to the driver.

As a beautiful flower, princess, she stands as there were no seats.

As a lovely fairy she offers him a drink, while riding slowly along a lonely road together to her “desa”, village.

What a surprise, what a delight, what a precious treasure he has got in his cart.
