One, Out Of A Hundred

One, Out Of A Hundred

“I have recorded a lot of performances of my choir and singers. Were there just one really beautiful out of a hundred performances, am I happy, grateful, as I think, I never can do the same again. I certainly can judge myself. Not because people say it is beautiful.

Here is one, Londonderry air: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1-h0n4nqWk. which I love, though not perfect, recorded with my i Pad.

And I comfort myself with the Indonesian saying: ‘mana ada gading tidak retak?’ is there ivory without flaw?”
So said my Choir Conductor to me.

Imagine Diasebad, 6 old agers singing it without loudspeakers in the big Sion church, while they do not know before that the organ which accompanied them on their visit, was raised one note, tone. He said he was lucky he didn’t run into an “accident” as the song is already very high. They were forced to sing even one tone higher.
