Say Thank You For The Miseries, ...

Say Thank You For The Miseries, …

What a fuss of having a reunion and talk about nothing whatsoever. You could send a letter, telephone, send an e mail. It’s easy to have a reunion with internet but they didn’t do so if they think it to be much fun, important.

I then haven’t to worry about which clothes, which shoes to wear, to polish them, to cut, comb my hair, order a taxi, shake hands, kiss, smile, laugh, listen to clever, witty talk, talk when you have nothing to talk about, pride yourself if you have succes, sitting shy, unnoticed, silently if you are a failure and N.B. for decency’s sake to share in the expenditures of an expensive dinner and on top of that, say thank you for all the misery, suffering it has brought me.

When we weren’t married I often visited you, while I hate visiting. I almost never visited my aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, friends and aquaintances. But if you ask me to visit Browny and Blacky in Kebon Jeruk I gladly would go. When I drop by early in the morning on my bike on my way to the lake Cipondo; I call them and they ran excitedly to welcome me. I thrust my hand through an opening of the closed gate and they stand and lick my hand since I can’t go inside the house as there’s no one there.

“And gladly, with pleasure would I forget them all. Are you mad? We certainly won’t go. Ha, ha. Don’t you think I’m really a good husband to safeguard you from such inconvenience? Why don’t you kiss me?

So said Opa Johan to his wife.

Being A King

Being A King

He has authority, is a master, a king. No one could order, command, scold, teach, treat him like a child, … No one would like that.

Who has a car is master of his car, who has money is master of his money, Who has a house is master in his house.

Who owns himself, has a high self respect is his own master, a king, not one’s husband or wife. They have no right even though with a marriage certificate, except they lovingly say a warm: “I am yours” but just for as long as they grant it, not forever.

Husband and wife are king and queen with sovereignty. Never say an ugly, cold, stupid: “you are mine”. They’re no property that could be treated at your own discretion.

It's Natural

It’s Natural

He could be a wise man and is perhaps over eighty years in the guise of a pak tani (farmer), living in a village. He every day enjoyed working on his land, even on holidays, during his vast. His wife helps him and takes his noon day meal as though on picnic for him. They have nine children and now the youngest is almost grown up. His wife so healthy, looks like she’s just fifty. He almost never goes outside his community, lives in a humble home yet he knows quite a lot. It isn’t a wonder that they’re faithful. It’s so natural.

While a city man falls in love with his secretary and marries her. But husband and wife are prohibited to work together in the same company so she leaves her job. He then takes another secretary. He works, eats, talks, discusses things together and gradually is loving her instead of his wife, while she, his wife, perhaps, is working in another company and has another very kind boss. It is just as natural that they become unfaithful. The society forces them to become so.

Nature, creatures never fuss about holy matrimony, virginity, fidelity, adultery, bastard, homo, pornography. One day when we would become wiser, stop being prudish, these would be extinct.

The Weak Especially Should Be Respected

The Weak Especially Should Be Respected

The old, the weak, even the child have dignity. They should be respected, honored, more so as they can’t, havn’t the courage to fight back. The small, the weak needn’t honor a president. It’s the president who should honor, respect, protect them if he is honorable, civilized.

A dishonorable king in former times could force people to work, to war for him, take his land, his wife, his daughter, … moreover in a war against a conquered foe.

When Opa Johan Serves His Wife Some Rice

“Give me your plate, I’ll serve you some rice.”

Silence.

“Why don’t you say anything?”

“Thank you.”

“Who, thank you?”

“You, you rascal.”

The Volley Ball Coach Would Graduate Summa Cum Laude

The Volley Ball Coach Would Graduate Summa Cum Laude

“Short players never outdo tall players in Volley Ball.” That’s my thesis when I ever want to get me a doctor’s degree. Therefore the classification according to player’s stature is necessary to be fair. Then would I graduate summa cum laude. I challenge the professors, the highest officials of the IVBF who almost know nothing about it, - poor fellows - as is a pupil to a master, a teacher. Ha, ha.

So said the volley ball coach to me.
