My Thoughts, My Feelings, Are As Young As Ever

My Thoughts, My Feelings, Are As Young As Ever

“I now belief that man is created great, wonderful, growing beautiful, wiser, truer,  more daring, not prejudiced by opinions, fame, he can enjoy the simplest foods, the simplest environments, the simplest things and I remember Jesus who said ‘for it is to those who are childlike that the Kingdom of God belongs.’ And I thought of the beautiful, wonderful Kingdom of God on earth for those who are childlike.”

So said my Choir Conductor to me. How wise he is and I thought of the still so dismal philosophy, belief of dividing people into superiors and inferiors, talented and not talented, into black and white sheep. What a shame! It’s a man’s conceit, arrogance that degrades his fellow man that way.

“Despite old age, my thoughts, my feelings, are as young as ever, you know? When singing ‘Du Ring an meinem Finger’ of Schumann,

I never felt myself so young.”

Can you imagine that he sings such songs for his church congregation in his concert? He said that these are beautiful love songs  of Solomon of our age.

“I not only enjoy a grand performance of an oratorio “Die Jahreszeiten” of Haydn in a concert hall, or on CD but I, we rather more enjoy when we sing even just one piece out of the whole music score, exercise for months, to master it, though we are but amateurs, certainly never so good as performed by professionals.

Then, inspired by You Tube’s: “broadcast yourself” we, Diasebad singers, old scarecrows like me, broadcasted it our self without any professional help. How proud, how happy we are. Can you imagine this?” So he said to me.
